On the 8th of February in 2i's Edinburgh HQ, we collaborated with Scotland Women In Tech (SWiT) and SmartSTEMs to host a women's empowerment event.
Who are SWiT and SmartSTEMs?
SWiT, spearheaded by the visionary Silka Patel, is on a mission to promote gender equity in the technology sector. Their focus lies in celebrating, championing, and investing in women to create a diverse and inclusive technology ecosystem.
SmartSTEMs operates through cost-effective collaborations between industry and education, aiming to inspire, engage, and challenge young minds to pursue careers in STEM. The Event
Karen Adams (Murray) and Heather Donnelly introduced SmartSTEMs, an organisation dedicated to inspiring the next generation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM). Following that, Silka presented the impactful story behind SWiT, shedding light on the importance of diversity in the tech industry.
